Today's Mayfair Organ Concert is given by Daniel Cardiel Manso (Alkmaar, Netherlands), performing the following programme:
- Sebastián Aguilera de Heredia - Obra de 8° tono – Ensalada
- JS Bach - Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C major BWV 564
- Felix Mendelssohn - Organ Sonata in D minor Op. 64 No. 6
- Guilmant - Organ Sonata No. 1 in D minor Op. 42iii. Final: Allegro Assai
As ever admission is free with a retiring collection.
Daniel Cardiel is a young dulzaina player, organist, orchestra and choir conductor, harpsichordist and musicologist from Segovia. He began his musical training at the Professional Conservatory of Segovia, specialising in dulzaina with Professor Ricardo Ramos.
A few years later he became interested in the world of the organ and at the age of 11 he joined the professional organ class at the conservatory under the teaching of David Largo Dios. At the age of 17 he obtained the professional title of dulzaina and organ and that same year he won first prize in the ‘Don Juan de Borbón’ performance competition, in the chamber music category.
